If you remember, Putty Squad was released on SNES back in 1994. Then it was planned for Amiga and even received great reviews in magazines like Amiga Power, but the game was never actually launched for Commodore’s platform.
Apple Admits iPhone 4 Reception Woes Are Hardware-Related
Apple’s software update would only make iPhone 4’s signal meter more accurate, but would do nothing to fix the hardware problem.
It’s been like pulling teeth, and it took journalists mailing AppleCare rather than Apple’s notoriously tight-lipped and selectively-responding public relations department, but we have our answer. That iPhone 4 software update will do nothing to fix the reception problems–it is a hardware issue.
iPhone 4 Antenna Issue, Cont.
How big a problem is the iPhone 4′s possibility of antenna interference when you touch its lower left-hand corner? It’s still not clear. It might affect only some people or some iPhones. Or it might be a common issue with smartphones from all manufacturers which folks are only now noticing. (Me, I’ve attempted to replicate the problem by forcing my iPhone to drop calls . . . but so far, it’s not cooperating.)
The Mobile Roundup – Did you hear about the iPhone 4?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) finally introduced its next smartphone this week and the iPhone 4 looks pretty impressive. Believe it or not, the next iPhone wasn’t the only thing that happened in the mobile world over the last few days, as Sprint (NYSE: S) told us how well the EVO 4G sold (kind of), we put this summer’s “superphones” up against each other, and multiple shots of the new Droid leaked out. Read on after the jump for a full breakdown of this week’s hottest mobile news.
Does the iPhone 4 Really Have a “Retina Display”?
Dr. Raymond Soneira runs DisplayMate Technologies, which makes software to test display quality. He also knows more about digital displays than just about anyone I know – and I know some pretty tech-savvy folks. This morning, Dr. Soneira shot me an interesting email regarding the so-called “Retina Display” of the iPhone 4. To clarify: a retina display is one whose resolution meets or exceeds the maximum resolution the human retina is capable of resolving, assuming perfect vision.

Apple may be planning to develop solar-powered iPhones, suggested in patent filings that describe putting solar cells on portable devices and on iPods.
This isn’t the first attempt to bring solar power to iPhones. As you may remember, in May, Dexim brought us the DCA19 P-Flip, a solar-powered battery and dock for the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The most recent patent filed by Apple was on Touch Sensor Integrated Solar Panels on media players.

Apple’s leak control has apparently failed again, with photos and video of yet another alleged iPhone 4G prototype appearing on a Vietnamese Internet forum and on YouTube.
Apple Tweaks Wi-Fi in IPhone to Use China Protocol
Apple appears to have tweaked its iPhone to support a Chinese security protocol for wireless networks, as companies increasingly adopt Chinese government-backed technologies to break into the country’s huge market.
The move suggests Apple may soon launch a new version of the iPhone in China with Wi-Fi, a feature that regulations previously barred.
Apple Boosts iPhone 3G Download Capacity

Apple has increased the cap for downloads over 3G networks on the iPhone from 10MB to 20MB, in what some think is a sign of heavier multimedia content appearing for the upcoming iPad.
By now, every time you wanted to download a podcast or application from the App Store that was over 10 MB, you got an annoying message asking you to use Wi-Fi because the file was too large. But not anymore.
BTRC to award licences for IP telephony service operators soon
The telecom regulatory body will award licences to private operators for providing Internet Pro-tocol (IP) telephony services in the country very soon to help Internet users make domestic and overseas calls at a cheaper cost, officials said. To this end, Bangladesh Telecom-munication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Monday published the second draft guideline on “Internet Protocol Telephony Service Provider (IPTSP)” under which the country’s Internet service providers (ISPs) will be awarded the licences.
