Apple Boosts iPhone 3G Download Capacity

Apple has increased the cap for downloads over 3G networks on the iPhone from 10MB to 20MB, in what some think is a sign of heavier multimedia content appearing for the upcoming iPad.
By now, every time you wanted to download a podcast or application from the App Store that was over 10 MB, you got an annoying message asking you to use Wi-Fi because the file was too large. But not anymore.
BTRC to award licences for IP telephony service operators soon
The telecom regulatory body will award licences to private operators for providing Internet Pro-tocol (IP) telephony services in the country very soon to help Internet users make domestic and overseas calls at a cheaper cost, officials said. To this end, Bangladesh Telecom-munication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Monday published the second draft guideline on “Internet Protocol Telephony Service Provider (IPTSP)” under which the country’s Internet service providers (ISPs) will be awarded the licences.

BTRC to open up IP telephony
The telecom watchdog has decided to issue licences for IP telephony in a move to open up voice calls through the internet protocol, the use of which has so far been prohibited in Bangladesh. IP-telephony licensing will be exclusive to local internet service providers (ISPs). Licence holders will provide international and domestic voice calls over managed IP-based networks, according to the IP telephony licence guideline designed by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). BTRC invites views on IPTSP regulations
Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Monday published the second draft regulations for Internet Protocol Telephony Service Provider (IPTSP) licences. BTRC, in a press release, said any institution or individual can give their opinion on the draft regulations by January 26. The regulations are available on the BTRC’s website.

BTRC publishes draft guidelines on IP telephony
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has published a draft regulatory and licensing guidelines on internet protocol telephony service provider (IPTSP). The telecoms regulator uploaded the guidelines on their website on Sunday and encouraged feedback that can be emailed to iptel@btrc.gov.bd by Nov. 30.
