T-Mobile USA has restored voice and data services to users after an eight-hour outage that affected nearly 1.7 million subscribers.
The iPhone On T-Mobile: Why Not?

AT&T’s exclusive hold on the iPhone is coming to an end, and speculation is bubbling as to which U.S. carrier will get Apple’s smartphone next. Verizon has been hot tipped to take over the iPhone, but the latest iPhone-trashing campaign for the Motorola Droid could mean it’s not going to happen. Now, a new carrier has emerged as a possible contender: T-Mobile. Yes, T-Mobile.
Analyst Dough Reid tells The Street that he sees T-Mobile as a potential home for the iPhone. Like AT&T, T-Mobile is a GSM carrier, though T-Mobile is a much smaller company. Would users be willing to make the move to a smaller company? We may find out, according to Reid.

T-Mobile Gearing Up for BlackBerry Bold 9700 Launch Parties

If you’ve read the rumors about the BlackBerry Bold 9700 launch date… It’s looking more and more like they’re spot-on. The last I heard, RIM was set to announce the BlackBerry Bold 9700 on October 21st… Which would make an early November in-store and online availability for the device seem reasonable.
T-Mobile myTouch3G – Unboxing the coolest retail package ever!

Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) might be king of the hill when it comes to designing minimalist retail packages that exude sexiness, but Apple’s iPhone box isn’t exactly useful. T-Mobile (NYSE: DT)’s myTouch3G retail box, on the other hand, is pure genius. The myTouch3G (aka HTC Magic) is a great Android phone in its own right, but for this unboxing video we’re concentrating on the awesomeness of the box.
T-Mobile, Sony Ericsson launch unlimited music download service PlayNow Plus in the Netherlands

Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) seems to be experimenting with unlimited music download service in the Netherlands. Along with the local branch of T-Mobile (NYSE: DT), the Swedish-Japanese handset manufacturer has launched PlayNow Plus, a buffet service which users can get for 9.95 EUR a month when paired with some data plan (starting at 9.95 EUR, as well). Sony Ericsson’s sexy W995 Walkman slider is picked as a testing device, and along with a purchase, you get 6 months to trial PlayNow Plus. The question what happens with your music collection after your subscription ends remains in the air, as well as whether you can transfer the songs downloaded over the air to your computer and elsewhere…
T-Mobile Launches The Samsung Highlight All Touchscreen Phone

It looks like T-Mobile scored a new handset yesterday called the Samsung Highlight. At a quick glance it looks to compete with Samsung’s similar offering on Sprint, the Instinct S30. Feature wise were talking a full touchscreen with their TouchWiz UI, 3 megapixel camera with video, microSD card slot, built in AIM, music player and EDGE (as in slow) connectivity. You can grab one now for $150 after a 2-year contract signing and $50 mail-in-rebate.
T-Mobile Launches Samsung Highlight

A new touchscreen handset from Samsung has found its way into T-Mobile (NYSE: DT)’s loving arms, the Samsung T749 Highlight. Bearing a 3 megapixel camera, microSD memory card slot supporting up to 16 GB, aGPS, 240 x 400 resistive touch display, quad-band EDGE and UMTS, and the TouchWiz UI. We haven’t heard much about this thing prior to release, so let’s reserve jugement for now. I’m especially skeptical about the web2go widget that T-Mobile is pushing on the the Highlight – hop into your local store to give it a shot for yourself. You can nab it for $149.99 on contract after rebates, but if you want a closer look, our buddies at PhoneDog got their paws all over the Highlight.
T-Mobile Website now sports Dash 3G

The HTC manufactured T-Mobile Dash 3G has now finally made an appearance on the T-Mobile website according to a report on mobileburn and commanding a price tag of $169.99 with a 2 year contract although the suggest retail price is $349.99.
Cue The Violins: HTC Hero Not Coming to T-Mobile U.S

Our man Daniel is with T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) in New York this morning regarding their upcoming myTouch 3G (a.k.a the HTC Magic, reviewed thusly), and when asked about the HTC Hero which has had everyone a-gaggle lately, they replied openly that there are “no plans” to pick it up. It kind of makes sense, since the Hero would really blow the myTouch 3G right out of the water before it even had a chance to get released, but it’s still pretty sad that such a wonderful chunk of technology won’t be coming to the U.S. in the near future. Well, that’s not entirely true – since the Hero’s already gone through the FCC, it’s possible that AT&T (NYSE: T) will pick it up, that is, if they can rip themselves away from the iPhone for a microsecond. Abroad, however, T-Mobile will be offering the HTC Hero in the UK, if you happen to be on that side of the pond. I wonder what the story is in Canada – it would be pretty sweet if Rogers (NYSE: RCI) offered it, but it’s looking like for the time being, the Hero will be staying in Europe.
T-Mobile U.S. Touch Pro 2 Due August 12?

We had heard that T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) Germany would be getting the Touch Pro 2 first, but what about their American cousin? Well, a rumoured August 12th. launch date has bubbled up for those who wait for it with bated breath. Pencil your calendars lightly, as the source couldn’t produce any supporting documents, but a little bit of hope couldn’t hurt. Bell is already showing signs of a CDMA version, as is Verizon, so the date isn’t entirely far-fetched. We’re just about ready to publish out Touch Pro 2 / N97 head-to-head review, so stay tuned to see how this sucker stacks up against the competition.
