South Korea’s KTF unveils USIM chips with internal memory

South Korea’s leading mobile operator, KTF, announced a new kind of USIM (Universal Subscriber Identity Module) chips/cards that can have up to a gigabyte of internal memory. Users who opt to grab one of these can have all their contacts and some mobile content stored on a SIM card, only to transfer it easier to the next phone they buy. As a result, PC suite software can become obsolete for some users — switching a SIM card is all it takes to preserve your contacts and other information stored on a mobile phone. Read more
T-Mobile unveils embedded SIM that fits on a pin

The GSM SIM card. We all know what they look like. That little rectangular piece of metal-laden plastic lying underneath your mobile phone’s battery is the key that opens the door to your GSM carrier’s network. But, they’re apparently too big and awkward for T-Mobile (NYSE: DT). In a bid to expand Deutsche Telekom (NYSE: DT)-owned T-Mobile USA’s reach beyond just cellphones and mobile broadband cards, T-Mobile USA has unveiled a tiny new SIM for use with embedded devices. Sprint is out with a new mobile broadband product – Sierra Wireless AirCard 402 modem. What’s interesting about this device is that it can work on both PC Card and ExpressCard slots, making sure even the folks with older laptops can use it. Of course, you can always opt for a USB modem, but if you like keeping your USB ports available for other devices (like, let’s say USB rocket launcher), the AirCard 402 is the way to go. The modem works on two CDMA bands (1900 and 800 MHz) and supports EV-DO Rev. 0 and Rev. A where available. Read more
SoundID 300 Bluetooth headset – THE most comfortable headset
April 15, 2009 by admin

No matter how small or lightweight your Bluetooth headset might be, there’s a limit to just how long you can wear it on your ear before becoming uncomfortable. The problem lies in the ear-plug design. That little piece of awkwardly-shaped plastic squeezed inside your ear canal isn’t going to sit there long-term without some irritation kicking in. But, what if an ear doctor designed the ear-plug for maximum comfort? Well, then you’d have the SoundID 300 Bluetooth headset. Designed by an ear doctor at Stanford University (along with a team of acoustics experts and engineers), the SoundID 300 Bluetooth headset sets out to be THE most comfortable Bluetooth headset on market. With telcos offering internet and television service and cable TV providers getting into the home-phone and internet service game, the lines between different wired and wireless networks will become more muddled. Case in point, sixth-largest US cable provider Cox Communications is preparing to launch their very own wireless network. Cox is looking to branch out and compete with the likes of AT&T (NYSE: T) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless, offering both pre- and post-paid wireless service in the South and Southwest US regions. Zeemote JS1 wireless controller works with Android!

We know Zeemote’s JS1 wireless controller can sing along an array of Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) phones, and also BlackBerrys. Now we have it working with Android, too. As you’re about to see, everything looks perfect on the demo video bellow, although the game played doesn’t look that entertaining at all — quite the contrary, I might add. However, it’s a good thing to see Zeemote conquering yet another platform and in the near future I’ve no doubts we’ll see an array of Zeemote-enabled titles hitting the Android Market. Read more

Yes, yes, and YES! Anyone that has been reading my posts for the past while here at IntoMobile will know that I love the old school games. I started out with the classic Commodore 64 and worked my way through Atari systems, the original NES… Oh, and how could I forget the ColecoVision. Classic. Naturally when I laid eyes upon the Game Boy iPhone
case above I already had my wallet out ready to purchase. Read more

Aside from showing the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E71x for AT&T (NYSE: T) and Nokia 1661 for T-Mobile USA, the Finnish giant also unveiled two new Bluetooth accessories at the CTIA Wireless in Las Vegas. The first of the two is the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-216, which is touted as a “comfortable headset with a curved form factor that enables handsfree calls in even the noisiest of environments.” As for the other one, the Nokia Speakerphone HF-510 is an in-vehicle suction cup speakerphone with high quality echo and noise reduction — integrated DSP. Novatel bringing CDMA MiFi to Verizon as MiFi 2200

The Novatel MiFi Portable Intelligent HotSpot has been on our radar (and on our wishlist) since early 2009. We’re big fans of 3G routers around these parts, and Novatel’s completely wire-free MiFi 3G router takes top-billing as a portable hotspot. Sprint (NYSE: S)’s product roadmap has already confirmed the Novatel MiFi launching on Sprint’s CDMA network by June of this year, and now it looks like Verizon (NYSE: VZ) is getting in on the 3G WiFi router party with their very own branded Novatel MiFi!
