The newly unveiled Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro is heading to O2 UK. The Telefónica-owned company pinned a June release date, without being too specific. Similarly, we’ve no idea how much the phone will cost, but it’s kinda safe to bet it will be available free of charge to customers who commit on a two-year contract of at least 20-25 GBP per month.

Sony Ericsson is turning to social media to get some buzz before launching new products. The Swedish-Japanese company is reaching to its Facebook fanbase of over 4.5 million to ask them to be the first to review two “new feature phones.”

Sony Ericsson announced the Xperia Arc at CES back in January, which wowed the crowds with its slimness and style. Their last stab at the big and beautiful powerhouse Android smartphone was the Xperia X10, which launched with out-dated software and unappealing customizations. Since then, Sony Ericsson has dialled things back for the entry level with the X10 Mini, Mini Pro, and X8. After polishing up their social networking app (Timescape), Sony Ericsson is ready to take another shot at the upper-tier with the Xperia Arc.

Popular iOS hacker George ‘Geohot’ Hotz was recently sued by Sony Computer Entertainment America for jailbreaking the PlayStation. Of course, most of the tech community sided with Geohot, accusing Sony of stifling added accessibility and options to its PlayStation gaming system. File this under “rumors” but also under “it makes perfect sense.” As you can see from a poster image above, Sony Ericsson is (or that’s “may be”) working on a new Walkman smartphone. Last time we’ve seen the Swedish-Japanese company in the “Walkman smartphone action,” they released the Symbian UIQ3-powered W960i. Even before that, they’ve launched the Sony Ericsson W950i, both of which were rock solid for their days.
Havok gaming tools coming to Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Sony Ericsson unveiled the Xperia Play at Mobile World Congress last month but the company showed it off for the first time in the United States at the Game Developers Conference and said that the device will be capable of using Havok gaming tools in order to try and push smartphone gaming to the boundaries.
