iPhone 4 China Launch May Zap Grey Market

Whith Apple’s official launch of the iPhone 4 in China this weekend, it should put an end to the lucrative grey market for unlocked iPhones in the country.
The New York Times this week, reported Chinese men and women regularly queuing outside New York Apple Stores to buy iPhones to send to China.
Game Center from iOS 4.1 ported to the iPhone 3G

Apple opted to roll out iOS 4.1 to the iPhone 3G without support for Game Center but a recent hack reveals that gaming app can place nice with Apple’s second generation iPhone. The Game Center app loads up without error and lets you access some of the basic features of this social gaming center including viewing your contacts and responding to friend requests. Performance is sluggish, which is not entirely unexpected given the underlying hardware of the iPhone 3G. As a result, this is a proof of concept more than a usable hack.

Motorola to fix the messaging error affecting DROID X handsets running froyo

The DROID X received the highly anticipated Android 2.2 update last week. As with all major updates, some features improve and some, unfortunately, take a turn for the worse. Its the same for the DROID X- while some users are happy with froyo, others are reporting that the Android 2.2 update has produced a troubling SMS bug.

The Mondrian was an HTC codename discovered earlier this year in a leaked Windows Phone 7 ROM. Details on this Windows Phone 7 handset have been sparse, but thanks to a series of advertisement videos from JP Incorporated, who presumably did the music for the ads, we now know that the Mondrian is headed to AT&T. Based upon what we know from other Windows Phone 7 handsets, the Mondrian will have a touchscreen display (possibly 4.3-inch), 1GHz processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, and more. Look for the handset to get official in the upcoming month and land on AT&T in November. While we wait, we can watch these two slick advertisements and marvel at Microsoft’s $500 million advertising budget for Windows Phone 7.
UPDATE: Looks like one of the videos has already been pulled down and is now set to private. Enjoy the second one while you still can!
Samsung Galaxy Tab Coming to Bell, Too
Rogers has already gone all official about carrying the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but it looks like Bell will be keeping them company. I just got word from Bell Mobility PR that though they haven’t announced dates or pricing, they’re confirming that they’ll carry the Android 2.2 tablet at some point. Telus has remained tight-lipped on the subject, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to see them offer it eventually as well. Although I’m not holding my breath, it would be cool if Wind picked up the Samsung Galaxy Tab; why not, T-Mobile’s AWS version would work fine with Wind’s network.
