AKTEL re-certified for ISO 9001:2000
Moody International Bangladesh Limited, an UKAS approved certification body, has re-certified TM International (Bangladesh) Limited (AKTEL) ISO 9001:2000 until 2010, said a press release. AKTEL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jefri Ahmad Tambi received the certification from Moody International (Bangladesh) Country Manager Ataur Rahman Khan at the AKTEL head office in the city Tuesday.
Chief Strategic Officer Koji Ono, Chief Commercial Officer Bidyut Kumar Basu and head of Corporate Affairs Javed Tariq were also present in the ceremony.
The AKTEL managing director applauded the staff for their continuous effort to ensure quality by managing the activities through processes.
He also expressed gratitude to Moody International (Bangladesh) for their valuable guidance and support over the last three years.
The ISO 9001:2000 standard is one of the most widely known standards ever, which has been implemented by more than 776,000 organisations in 161 countries.
The ISO 9001 standard has become an international reference for quality management requirements in business relationships.
The standard is to help the organisation of any type and size in ‘quality management’, which means what they do to fulfil the customers’ quality requirements, fulfil applicable regulatory requirements, enhance customer satisfaction and achieve continual improvement of its performance in pursuit of the objectives.
AKTEL is the first and only telecom operator in the country, which has been ISO certified since September 2005.
